No. 1 Tar Heels Host Gators In Third Round Action

Who: No. 1 North Carolina (31-1) vs. No. 16 Florida (18-7 SEC)

The Lead: After wins over Charleston Southern and No. 33 Old Dominion, the No. 1 North Carolina Tar Heels will face the No. 16 Florida Gators in the Super Regional round of NCAA action. First serve is set for 5 p.m. with the winner advancing to the NCAA Quarterfinals in Orlando, Florida next week.


  • UNC is a perfect 17-0 at home this season. 17 wins is tied for the most home wins in a single season in North Carolina women’s tennis program history.

  • Last week, Fiona Crawley won her 117th singles match as a Tar Heel. She is now in sole possession of eighth place in all-time singles victories at UNC.

  • The Tar Heels are looking to advance the NCAA Quarterfinals for the 12th time in program history.

From the Notes: Last season, North Carolina defeated the Gators 4-0 in the Super Regional round.
