BATON ROUGE, La. – Tennessee senior Johannus Monday has been named to the SEC All-Tournament Team, the conference announced Sunday.
Second-ranked Monday posted a pair of straight-set singles wins atop the Vols’ lineup, routing Florida’s No. 52 Jeremy Jin, 6-2, 7-5, in the quarterfinals and South Carolina’s No. 15 Toby Samuel 6-1, 6-3, in the semifinals. The senior holds a 17-1 record against ranked opponents in 2023-24 and boasts an impressive 23-2 dual match record this season.
The senior also logged a doubles win alongside Angel Diaz in Friday’s quarterfinals, defeating the Gators’ No. 23 Aidan Kim and Nate Bonetto, 6-1, marking the pair’s 10th win over a ranked opponent.
Monday and the Vols will learn their NCAA Tournament seeding in the selection show, airing April 29 at 6 p.m. ET on NCAA.com.
