Men's Tennis Wraps Fall at Jack Kramer Club


ROLLING HILLS ESTATES, Calif. – Three members of the UCLA men’s tennis team are set to conclude the fall portion of the 2023-24 fall schedule starting Friday at the Jack Kramer Club, home of the Dennis Rizza Classic.

Expected to participate are freshman Spencer Johnson, sophomore Aadarsh Tripathi and redshirt freshman Emon van Loben Sels. Matches continue through Sunday. All three student-athletes are competing in singles action, while Johnson and van Loben Sels will collaborate in doubles play. The singles format is best of three tiebreak sets, while an eight-game pro set with a tiebreak at 7-7 is in place for doubles.

Van Loben Sels gets the Bruins started Friday at 8:30 a.m. PT, when he faces Conrad Brown of UC Santa Barbara. First-round matches for Johnson, who takes on Alexander Mandma of San Diego State, and Tripathi, tasked with taking down fourth-seeded Luka Mrsic of UCSB, start at 10 a.m. Second-round contests would also take place Friday.

Johnson and van Loben Sels face off with Alexander Aney and Ethan Schiffman of California Friday at 4 p.m. The top-seeded tandem of Aztecs Mandma and Robin Parts await the winner.

Johnson currently leads UCLA with four fall singles wins. Tripathi is second with three. Van Loben Sels has two singles victories. Johnson is tied for the team lead with a pair of doubles wins.
