The UCLA men’s tennis team completes its three-match homestand with contests against No. 11 Columbia Thursday and Oklahoma State Saturday at Los Angeles Tennis Center. The initial matchup, with the Lions, begins at 2 p.m. PT. The weekend tilt with the Cowboys starts at 12 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
UCLA began its three-match week with a 4-3 victory against Yale Monday afternoon at Los Angeles Tennis Center. Gianluca Ballotta earned his third clinching win of the season for the Bruins, securing the deciding point for a 4-2 advantage before the remaining contest was completed. Also victorious for UCLA were Stefan Leustian, Aadarsh Tripathi and Patrick Zahraj. The Bulldogs picked up the doubles point and got singles wins from Vignesh Gogineni and Michael Sun.
UCLA VS. COLUMBIA, OKLAHOMA STATE
UCLA is unbeaten across six matches with Columbia (1-0) and Oklahoma State (5-0), with the previous Columbia match predating 1981. The Bruins and Cowboys most recently tangled in 2019, when host UCLA prevailed by a 4-0 score to reach the third round of the NCAA tournament. Maxime Cressy clinched the overall win on the top court. Govind Nanda and Keegan Smith were also victorious for the Bruins, making it a clean sweep of the stadium courts. All three doubles matches were needed to determine the afternoon’s opening point, but Oklahoma State could not overcome eventual NCAA champions Cressy and Smith in the decider.
SCOUTING THE LIONS, COWBOYS
Columbia sports a record of 9-1, earning a ranking of No. 11 in Tuesday’s ITA Team Computerized Rankings. Michael Zheng leads three Lions in the Singles Rankings, at No. 16. Roko Horvat is No. 59 and Max Westphal No. 75. The tandem of Westphal and Theo Winegar is No. 25 in the Doubles Rankings. Oklahoma State is 11-4 and sits at No. 31. Isaac Becroft of the Cowboys is No. 108 in the Singles Rankings.
