Men’s Tennis Heads to ITA National Fall Championships and Easley Memorial


SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah men’s tennis program continues fall tournament action this week when they compete at the ITA National Fall Championships in San Diego and the Easley Memorial Tournament in Las Vegas.

 

The National Fall Championships will take place at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, Calif., from Nov. 2-6. The Easley Tournament will take place at UNLV from Nov. 4-6.

 

After taking the first-place title in their respective draws at the ITA Regional Championships, three Utes qualified for the National Fall Championships. Patrik Trhac and Berk Bugarikj will compete in the doubles main draw, while Geronimo Espin Busleiman will compete in the singles main draw.

 

Matches for the National Fall Championships are set to begin on Wednesday, Nov. 2, and scoring can be followed through the ITA website by clicking here. The tournament will also be live-streamed, and links for each day can be accessed by clicking here

 

The Utes doubles team of Trhac and Bugarikj open play at 3:30 p.m. MT on Wednesday against Rafael Izquierdo Luque and Josephy Wayand of NC State. Espin Busleiman opens play tomorrow at 12:30 p.m. against Michael Zheng of Columbia.

 

The Easley Memorial Tournament will see Utah’s Franco Capalbo, Mateo Julio, Jayson Blando, and Michael Blando competing. Along with host Las Vegas, the Utes will face various teams during their three-day stride. Matches will begin on Friday, Nov. 4, at the Fertitta Tennis Complex in Las Vegas.

 

The Utes will be in action one more time this fall following this weekend. Utah will head to LMU to play in the LMU Invitational in Los Angeles on Nov. 11-13.
