CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Fighting Illini men’s tennis is set to take on Nebraska (April 5 at 6 p.m. CT) and Wisconsin (April 7 at 2 p.m. CT) this weekend to continue Big Ten action.
History
Illinois has the upper hand over Nebraska with a 12-1 overall head-to-head record.
The first time the Illini and Cornhuskers competed was on March 2, 2012, when the Illini won, 6-1. The lone loss came on April 8, 2022, when Illinois lost in Lincoln, 4-2.
Illinois has a 65-30 record over Wisconsin, with the first match played over 100 years ago in 1909.
Scouting Report
Nebraska is coming off a doubleheader sweep over Wisconsin (6-1) and Illinois State (5-2).
The Cornhuskers have Calvin Mueller ranked in the top 110 in the singles rankings.
Wisconsin is on a seven-match losing streak, most recently suffering a 6-1 loss to Nebraska. The Badgers’ last win was a 5-2 victory over Butler at home.
