KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The ninth-ranked and No. 8 overall seeded Tennessee men’s tennis team is geared up for the NCAA Tournament, beginning with Regional action this Saturday and Sunday, May 6-7 at Barksdale Stadium.
 
Tennessee (21-7), a top-eight seed in the NCAA Tournament for a third consecutive season, is set to face Belmont Saturday at 1 p.m. ET in the Round of 64.
 
The Knoxville Regional showcases Tennessee, Belmont, Wake Forest and Memphis.
 
Tennessee finished second in the SEC this year, with a 10-2 conference record. It reached the SEC Tournament semifinals, before narrowly dropping a 4-3 decision to Kentucky.

Saturday, May 6
Match 1 – Wake Forest vs. Memphis – 10 a.m. ET
Match 2 – Tennessee vs. Belmont – 1 p.m. ET
 
Sunday, May 7
Match 3 – Winner of Match 1 vs. Winner of Match 2 – 1 p.m. ET

SCOUTING BELMONT

Belmont (21-5) has won each of its last 14 matches, including a 4-1 win over Tennessee Tech to earn the Horizon League Tournament Championship.

 

Saturday serves as the third-ever meeting between the Vols and Bruins. Tennessee defeated Belmont, 7-0, in 2013 and 6-1 in 2018, with both matches being played in Knoxville.

 

Tennessee has advanced to the Round of 32 in 19 of its last 20 NCAA Regional appearances.

 

SCOUTING WAKE FOREST

A potential Saturday matchup would be the 20th all-time between Tennessee and Wake Forest, with the Vols holding a 13-6 advantage in the series, dating to 1975.

 

In 2022, the top-ranked Vols battled for a 4-3 home win over the Demon Deacons on Jan. 25. This season, Wake Forest earned the 4-3 win over Tennessee in Winston-Salem on Jan. 22.
