EUGENE, Ore. – Head Coach Nils Schyllander and the Oregon men’s tennis team released the 2024 schedule today. The season will kick off at home with a double-header on January 19.
2023 Men’s Tennis Schedule Notes
Jan. 19: Home opener vs. Purdue
April 5: Pac-12 home opener vs. USC
April 13: Oregon hosts rivals Washington
April 19, 21: Last home weekend of the season; ASU and Arizona
Oregon starts the season with consecutive double headers facing Eastern Washington University and future BIG 10 opponent Purdue on Jan. 19, followed by Pacific and Seattle University on Jan. 21. The Ducks then head to the ITA Kickoff in Colombus, Ohio on Jan. 26.
They will return home for a matchup with Nevada on Feb. 10. The Ducks host PSU and Nebraska on Feb. 17, but stay on the road for the remainder of February and March, including the first conference game at Utah on March 31.
The Ducks will host five Pac-12 matches at home between April 5-21, beginning with USC and UCLA. The home schedule features a rivalry matchup against Washington on April 13. The final home weekend of the season will be April 19-21, when Arizona State and Arizona head to Eugene.
Quinn Vandecasteele is set to return to for the Ducks after experiencing success in the summer and fall seasons. Vandecasteele went 14-7 in the two spot for singles last year. Vlad Breazu (15-8) looks to build off a strong 2023 season, with returners Avi Shugar, Ray Lo, and Russell Soohoo.
All-Conference transfers David Cierny and Lachlan Robertson will make an immediate impact for Oregon, alongside four competitive freshmen.
