NASHVILLE, Tenn.— The 2023 Academic All-District Men’s Tennis Teams, awarded by College Sports Communicators, were announced Tuesday. Commodore senior Joubert Klopper was among those awarded the distinction, which highlights student-athletes who maintain a 3.5+ GPA while competing in more than half of team competition.
Last month, Klopper was named the 2023 men’s tennis Scholar-Athlete of the Year, another accolade earned for his elite efforts in athletics and academics.
In an athletic capacity this season, Klopper climbed as high as No. 59 in the ITA singles national rankings and reached the doubles quarterfinals of the ITA Regional Championship. So far as a Commodore, Klopper has accrued 57 singles victories and 33 doubles wins.
For his work in the classroom, Klopper is a two-time member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll, three-time ITA Scholar-Athlete and has been named to Vanderbilt’s Dean’s List four times. Klopper will graduate from Vanderbilt in three and a half years, with a major in economics and minor in business. Boasting a 3.644 cumulative GPA, Klopper has been accepted into Vanderbilt’s Master of Finance graduate program.
