Hokies fall at No. 16 Syracuse


BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech women’s tennis team lost on the road to No. 16 Syracuse on Friday afternoon, 5-2.

The Hokies struggled out of the gate in doubles falling behind early in all three matches before eventually conceding the doubles point to the Orange.

Özlem Uslu started the charge in singles winning due to retirement adding her second win of the season on Court 1 for Tech. It was a tough day for the Hokies otherwise with courts two through five losing in straight sets. Katie Andreini finished the day on a positive note coming back to win the second set and then dominating the 10 point tie break, 3-6, 6-3, 1-0(3).
