Heck, Ozolins Called Up to NCAA Doubles Championship

ORLANDO, Fla. — Illinois men’s tennis top doubles pair Hunter Heck and Karlis Ozolins will now play in the NCAA Doubles Championship after initially being named as alternates.

The duo will play Sebastian Dominko and Connor Fu of Notre Dame tomorrow (May 25) after the Fighting Irish’s original opponents withdrew.

The time for the match has yet to be announced.

Heck and Ozolins were 12-3 in the regular season and 5-1 in conference competition. The pair primarily played in the No. 1 doubles spot where they went 8-3.

The last doubles group to advance was Ross Guignon and, now assistant coach, Tim Kopinski in 2014 when the pair lost, 3-6, 6-2, 6-1.
