Florida will face off against Texas A&M on Sunday at the Mitchell Tennis Center. The match is set to start at 1 p.m.
The Gators opened their season strong, defeating LSU (4-0) during the Tigers SEC home opener. Florida moves to a 5-5 overall record and 1-0 in SEC play.
The match between the Gators and the Aggies should be nothing short of action filled. Texas A&M currently sits at No.21 with three highly ranked players in singles and one top ranked doubles team.
Junior, Mary Stoiana ranks as the No.1 player in the nation with a 15-2 overall record. Nicole Khirin sits at No.19 and Mia Kupres rounds out the ranked players for the Aggies at No.29.
On the doubles side, Mary Stoiana/Mia Kupres find themselves in the No.4 spot with a 14-2 overall record.
LAST TIME OUT
The Gators will enter this match 5-5, defeating LSU on Friday evening. The Gators took the doubles point with Carly Briggs/Rachel Gailis winning the first match 6-3 and freshman14-2 duo Qavia Lopez/ Malwina Rowinska securing the point with a 7-5 victory after Alicia Dudeney/ Bente Spee dropped their match.
Florida defeated the Tigers in singles, leading in all matches including the unfinished. Rachel Gailis posted the first win for the Gators, defeating Florentine Dekkers 6-4,6-1. Freshman, Qavia Lopez followed after, snagging a 7-5, 6-3 win against Maya Tahan. Alicia Dudeney found herself in a battle with Gaby Rivera after she dropped her first set 6-3. Dudeney won the second set 6-1, and forced a third set where she came out on top with a 6-2 victory.

Florida finds itself ranked No. 19 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings. Three Gators are ranked in singles competition: Rachel Gailis at No. 40 , Carly Briggs at No. 57, and Emily De Oliveira sitting at No. 61.
