Clemson, S.C. – South Carolina women’s tennis completed action at the Furman Fall Classic on Sunday. The final day of competition was interrupted by weather which forced matches to be relocated to nearby facilities with indoor courts available. The Gamecocks found themselves in familiar territory, having to be moved to Clemson to play their matches at the Duckworth Tennis Center.
In singles flight 1, No. 106 Shahar Biran fell to No. 16 Irina Cantos Siemers of Ohio State in two hard found sets, 6-4, 6-4.
Juniors Misa Malkin and Olympe Lancelot also both dropped their final matches of the competition with Malkin falling to No. 70 Alana Wolfberg and Lancelot falling to Akanksha Bhan of Ohio State.
Neither graduate Elise Mills nor freshman Anna Kantor saw action on Sunday, having withdrawn from the competition.
The team will see action again this coming weekend, splitting between the NC State Ranked +1 and the Charlotte Fall Invite. The tournament in Raleigh will run September 21-24 with the Charlotte tournament will take place September 22-24.
