Florida State Sweeps ACC Men's Tennis Awards

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Florida State swept the first ACC Men’s Tennis Weekly Awards of the season with Antoine Cornut-Chauvinc earning ACC Men’s Tennis Player of the Week and teaming with Barnaby Smith to earn ACC Doubles Team of the Week.

Cornut-Chauvinc led No. 16 Florida State to a 5-2 victory over No. 7 Georgia, recording wins at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles. Ranked No. 12 in singles, the junior defeated the nation’s No. 1-ranked singles player Ethan Quinn in two sets, 6-1, 7-5.

The doubles team of Cornut-Chauvinc and Smith took down the country’s 19th-ranked doubles duo of Quinn and Trent Bryde in a 7-6 (3) victory. That win secured the doubles point for Florida State to propel a Seminoles victory.
