DURHAM – No. 17 Duke men’s tennis is set for its ninth top-25 matchup this season when it welcomes No. 22 North Carolina to Ambler Tennis Stadium on Saturday.
The Blue Devils will acknowledge Andrew Dale, Michael Heller, Garrett Johns, Faris Khan and Andrew Zhang prior to the match for senior day. The contest will also be a Royal Blue match. Parking is available in the Blue Zone. To view the map, click HERE (PDF).
Earlier in the week, Duke claimed two of the ACC’s three weekly awards after securing both the player and doubles team of the week. The acknowledgment marked the third time this season the Blue Devils brough home two-of-three weekly conference honors. Redshirt senior Johns received solo praise for the third time this year as the conferences’ player of the week, while the Blue Devil tandem of Johns and sophomore Pedro Rodenas collected ACC Doubles Team of the Week nods for the second time.
Johns is listed as the No. 21 singles player nationally in the most recent ITA listing, while he and Rodenas moved up spots in the doubles rankings to No. 4 after finishing last weekend 2-0 with wins over consecutive top-15 opponents. Additionally, Rodenas is nationally ranked in singles play, securing the No. 49 position, while the graduate student duo of Heller and Zhang are listed as the No. 40 ranked doubles pairing in the country.

HISTORY WITH NO. 22 NORTH CAROLINA
Saturday’s contest will be the 136th all-time meeting between the two programs with the Tar Heels holding the 93-42 edge on the series. Duke won the teams’ last meeting a year ago in thrilling fashion, 5-2, and are riding a two-match winning streak over North Carolina.
