DURHAM – Duke men’s tennis head coach Ramsey Smith announced the team’s spring schedule and it is highlighted by 14 home matches.
The Blue Devils open the season with five consecutive dual matches beginning with VCU on January 20th and Princeton and North Carolina Central in a doubleheader on January 21st. Duke then hosts the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Kickoff Weekend for the first time since 2016 on January 27-28. The Blue Devils welcome NC State and either California or Middle Tennessee to Sheffield Indoor Tennis Center during the event.
Duke next hits the road when it travels to Illinois (February 2) and Northwestern (February 4) for two Big Ten matchups. The Blue Devils then return home for contests against Yale (February 9) and Kentucky (February 11).
If Duke wins its ITA Kickoff Weekend, it will advance to compete at the National Team Indoors in New York City, the weekend of February 16-18. The Blue Devils conclude the month of February with a non-conference match at Harvard on the 23rd and their first ACC contest at Boston College on the 24th.
Duke is then back in Durham for back-to-back conference weekends against Clemson (March 1) and Georgia Tech (March 3) and Virginia Tech (March 8) and Virginia (March 10). The Blue Devils head back on the road March 15th and 17th when they travel to Miami and Florida State, respectively. Duke closes the month at home when it welcomes Louisville (March 29) and Notre Dame (March 31) to Ambler Tennis Stadium.
The Blue Devils conclude their home regular season slate hosting North Carolina on April 6th before wrapping up their schedule at Wake Forest (April 12) and NC State (April 14).
The Cary Tennis Park in Cary, N.C., will serve as the host site for the ACC Men’s Tennis Championships which runs from April 18-21.
The NCAA Tournament opens with the NCAA First and Second Rounds on May 3-4 with the winners advancing to the NCAA Super Regionals on May 11 or 12. All three rounds will be at select campus sites. The winners of the Super Regionals will advance to the NCAA Team Championships in Stillwater, Okla., from May 16-19. The NCAA Individual Championships will follow the team championships, May 20-25.
