CARY, N.C. – Four members of the Duke women’s tennis team continued to battle on day two of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-American Championships, held at the Cary Tennis Park in Cary, N.C., on Sunday.

After advancing in the pre-qualifying first round, junior Ellie Coleman dropped in the round of 64 to Oklahoma’s Ava Catanzarite. Coleman started strong, taking the first set 6-2, before Catanzarite responded with back-to-back 6-2 victories to secure the win.

Sophomore Katie Codd earned the Blue Devils’ lone win on the day, after defeating Maria Juliana Parra Romero of Liberty in the consolation round of 64. Codd secured a 6-2 victory in the opening frame, but dropped the second set, 6-4. The Carlsbad, Calif., native bounced back for the 6-3 win in the final set to register the win. She now advances to the round of 32 to face Florida State’s Ellie Schoppe on Monday.
