Dores Look to Rebound

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The No. 23 Vanderbilt women’s tennis team will travel this weekend, taking on the No. 18 Florida Gators on Friday and the No. 34 South Carolina Gamecocks on Sunday.

The Commodores head into the weekend with a 2-2 record in the SEC, with the most recent losses coming to No. 12 Tennessee and No. 6 Georgia. The pairings of Celia-Belle Mohr and Marcella Cruz, Bridget Stammel and Anessa Lee, and Anna Ross and Holly Staff will work to extend their doubles match win streak this weekend. Vanderbilt has not lost a doubles point yet in SEC play, which consistently gives the team the advantage going into singles matches.

The Gators are 2-1 in conference play with victories over No. 38 LSU and No. 34 South Carolina. Its only loss was to No. 2 Texas A&M. Florida features three ranked singles players and two ranked doubles pairings.

The Gamecocks are 1-2 in conference play, with both losses coming to top 20 opponents. South Carolina has two ranked singles players and one ranked doubles pairing. The Gamecocks will play against No. 68 Kentucky on Friday before facing the Commodores on Sunday.

The first serve in Gainesville is set for 4 p.m. CT on Friday. The Dores will then travel to Columbia, South Carolina, where first serve is set for noon CT on Sunday.
