STANFORD, Calif. – No. 12 Stanford blanked Saint Mary’s 7-0 on Thursday afternoon in the season opener for both teams at Taube Family Tennis Stadium.

The Cardinal (1-0) locked up the doubles point and quickly secured the match with straight-set victories at all six spots of the singles lineup.

Leading 1-0, Samir Banerjee contributed a 6-1, 6-1 win on court three in his dual match debut.

Aryan Chaudhary followed with a 6-0, 6-2 triumph at the No. 4 spot before Filip Kolasinki delivered the 6-1, 6-2 clincher on court five.

Thursday’s match was originally scheduled for Wednesday and postponed due to rain.

Stanford next competes at Cal on Jan. 20 after rain forced the cancellation of this weekend’s Sherwood Championship.
