STARKVILLE – Mississippi State women’s tennis saw Emmanouela Antonaki and Chloé Cirotte named to the College Sports Communicators 2023 Academic All-District Team on Tuesday.
The 2023 Academic All-District Women’s Tennis Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC), recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First, second and third team Academic All-America honorees will be announced June 1.
Antonaki earned SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year earlier this year, while also being a three-time Academic All-SEC selection and a two-time ITA Scholar Athlete.
The Athens, Greece native will graduate this week with a master’s degree in sport administration with an astounding 4.0 GPA. Antonaki graduated with her undergraduate degree in 2022 in business administration with a 3.87 GPA.
Antonaki has qualified for the 2023 NCAA Singles Championships in Orlando, Florida later this month for the fourth consecutive year. She is the only women’s tennis player in MSU history to reach the NCAA Singles Championships four times.
This season, the graduate garnered a second team All-SEC selection after posting 19 singles wins. Antonaki is currently ranked 47th nationally and has earned four wins over ranked opponents. She also became the all-time leader in career singles wins (98) and career combined wins (179).
Cirotte, a junior from Orléans, France, is majoring psychology with a cumulative GPA of 3.78. She had a stellar 10-4 singles record. She also added seven doubles wins to her 2022-23 season before being injured during conference play this season. During her three seasons with the Bulldogs, she has tallied 43 singles wins and 32 doubles victories.
During her freshman year she earned ITA Southern Region Rookie of the Year and a SEC Freshman of the Week selection.
