BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – A Southeastern Conference-best 107 University of Alabama student-athletes earned a place on the 2022 First-Year Academic Honor Roll, the league office announced Thursday.
In addition to leading the league with its overall total, Alabama also tallied the most honorees in rowing (14), men’s track and field/cross country (13), women’s track and field/cross country (13) and men’s tennis (5).
The 2022 SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll is based on grades from the 2021-22 academic year. To earn a place on the honor roll a student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above at the nominating institution and have been a member of the varsity team for the sport’s entire NCAA championship segment.
In addition to those on the first-year list, the Crimson Tide had 81, 60 and 132 students-athletes named to the SEC Fall, Winter and Spring Academic Honor Rolls, respectively, giving Alabama a total of 380 for the 2021-22 academic year.
