AUSTIN, Texas – On the heels of his second-consecutive All-American campaign, junior Arthur Fery has been revealed as a third team Academic All-America selection from College Sports Communicators.
One of the top players in the country, Fery ended the season ranked No. 3 nationally in singles and No. 22 in doubles and was an ITA All-American in back-to-back seasons. He was named the Pac-12 Singles Player of the Year, the 20th overall in program history, and earned his second straight first team selection and third All-Pac-12 selection overall after a second team nod in 2021.
The junior went 21-5 on the season, including an 18-4 mark at No. 1 singles in dual play, earning the No. 3 national seed in the NCAA singles bracket. Fery ended his season with 14 ranked wins this season, including three over top-eight national seeds at the NCAA tournament. 30 of Fery’s 56 career singles wins have come over ranked foes.
Fery joins program greats KJ Hippensteel (2001, 02), David Martin (2003), Sameer Kumar (2019) and Axel Geller (2021, 2022) in earning the honor, with Stanford having a selection in three straight years for the first time since 2001-03 and four selections over the last five years. Tennis originally fell under the ‘at-large’ category but is in its first season with its own award.
The season came to a close last weekend at the NCAA Championships, where Fery advanced to the quarterfinals in singles and round of 16 in doubles.
