TUCSON, Ariz. – The Utah men’s tennis wrapped up the last road match of the season with a competition against the No.8 Arizona Wildcats. The squad dropped the doubles point despite the efforts and were ultimately short in singles play for a 4-0 finish.
During doubles play the Utes dropped court two and finished 3-6 on court three, granting the Wildcats their first point. Geronimo Espin Busleiman and Bruno Krenn were in a tight-4-5 set on court one, but their match was unfinished.
As the competition moved to singles, the Utah squad looked to close the deficit and control the necessary courts to take the lead. The Wildcats took control on court one, gaining the second point of the match. Soon after, Utah fell short on court three.
The match clinched against Utah’s favor on court two. Despite leading 6-5 in the first set on court five, Gianluca Citadini was unable to finish his match. Similarly, matches on courts four and six were also unfinished.
UP NEXT
The Utes are slated to cap the season with two home matches. The first is set to take place against UCLA on Friday, April 19 and the last on Sunday, April 21 against USC. Both matches will be held at the George S. Eccles Tennis Center.
