Three Doubles Pairs Advance To Round Of 16 Sunday


STANFORD, Calif. – The Washington women’s tennis team captured three doubles wins Saturday in the second day of ITA Northwest Regionals at Taube Family Tennis Stadium.
 
Doubles pairs Astrid Olsen and Alexia Jacobs, Erika Matsuda and Dariya Detkovskaya, and Melissa Sakar and Sarah-Maude Fortin will all compete Sunday morning in the round of 16.
 
Jacobs also found success for herself on the singles courts, not losing a single set until the round of 16, where she fell to Viller Moeller (California), 6-2, 6-0.

Doubles (Round of 32)

  • Olsen/Jacobs (UW) won by default
  • Matsuda/Detkovskaya (UW) def. Abouelsaad/Markov (Washington State), 8-1
  • Sakar/Fortin (UW) def. Yu/Sun (Stanford), 8-6
  • Wiersholm/Alsola (California) def. Lin/Gagnon (UW), 8-4
