Champaign, Ill. — Fighting Illini men’s tennis Karlis Ozolins has qualified for the Singles NCAA Tournament. The sophomore joins 64 other singles players across the country.
Ozolins is ranked No. 23 in the country in singles and completed the regular season with a 15-3 record overall and a 8-1 record in Big Ten competition.
The singles and doubles competition will be conducted May 22-27 at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida, after the conclusion of the team championship, which runs from May 17- 20. This year’s event will be conducted jointly with the NCAA Divisions II and III Men’s and Women’s Tennis Championships and hosted by the University of Central Florida and the Greater Orlando Sports Commission.
Illinois has had a least one singles qualifier every year since 1997, the last being Oliver Stuart in 2022.
