CARY, N.C. – Fifth-ranked NC State women’s tennis begins postseason play in the third round of the 2023 ACC Championship Tournament on Friday morning.
The Wolfpack (20-4) is the No. 3 seed in the tournament and will kick off play at 12:30 p.m. on Friday at the Cary Tennis Park. NC State is set to take on the winner of Boston College-Louisville-Florida State in the Quarterfinal Match.
Championship Info:
The tournament action starts on Wednesday and will run through Sunday. The championship match of the tournament will take place on Sunday morning at 10 a.m. and will be broadcast live on ACCNX.
Should NC State continue advancing, its weekend match schedule would be as follows:

Quarterfinal Match: Friday, April 21 at 12:30 p.m. against Boston College-Louisville-Florida State winner

Semifinal Match: Saturday, April 22 at 10 a.m.

Championship Match: Sunday, April 23 at 10 a.m.
Regular Season Review:
NC State finished the regular season 20-4 overall and 10-3 in ACC play. The Pack has secured 10+ conference wins in each of the last four completed dual-match campaigns. The Pack defeated seven top-25 opponents during the regular season, with three more victories inside the top 30.
NC State ended the regular season tied for third in the ACC standings with Virginia behind No. 1 UNC and No. 6 Duke.
Rankings Update:
As a team, NC State has been ranked in the national top ten for the entirety of the season and has faced 11 opponents ranked in the national top 25 this season.
NC State has two active ranked doubles pairs: Diana Shnaider and Alana Smith (career-best No. 5) and Nell Miller and Amelia Rajecki (No. 8). Shnaider (No. 12), Smith (No. 15), Rajecki (No. 29) and Abigail Rencheli (No. 76) are all ranked in singles as well.
ACC Championship History:
Since the ACC Women’s Tennis Championships took the current bracket-style format in 1990, NC State has appeared in the league tournament every season. The Pack has appeared in two semifinals in program history (1995 and 1998) and has never advanced to the championship match.
