Syracuse tennis (7-0, 1-0) topped Boston College (7-2, 0-1), 4-3, on Saturday in Chestnut Hill, Mass. The last time that the Orange started the season 7-0 was in 2016.
The Eagles captured the doubles point, as Marice Aguiar/Laura Lopez (BC) defeated Zeynep Erman/Shiori Ito, 6-2, and Hailey Wilcox/Sophia Edwards (BC) took down Polina Kozyreva/Miyuka Kimoto, 7-5. The Orange did claim the third flight, as Viktoriya Kanapatska/Ines Fonte defeated Muskan Mahajan/Seren Agar (BC), 6-4.
SU managed to secure the victory thanks to wins across the three through six singles flights. Viktoriya Kanapatska defeated Sophia Edwards (BC) 6-2, 6-2, Polina Kozyreva defeated Seren Agar (BC) 6-3, 6-1, Shiori Ito (SYR) defeated Muskan Mahajan (BC) 6-2, 6-3, and Ines Fonte defeated Natalie Eordekian (BC) 0-6, 6-4, 6-2.
Syracuse will be back in action at Drumlins Tennis club on Friday, Feb. 24, as it welcomes Florida State at 3:00 p.m.
