Boilers Beat Jaguars – Purdue Boilermakers

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind.- The Purdue men’s tennis team picked up their first win of the spring on Saturday with a convincing win over the IUPUI Jaguars. The 5-2 decision gives rejuvenation to the Boilermaker squad as they head into February.

The Boilers exploded onto the scene by picking up their second doubles point of the season. Each pair controlled their match with ease and Purdue clinched the point with wins at No. 2 and 3. Daniel Labrador/Tomasz Dudek led 5-4 in an unfinished match. 

Freshman, Mujtaba Ali-Khan opened up singles play with a dominant win in straight sets. His 6-4, 6-1 victory gives him his third win in four matches. 

Purdue continued its success with Milledge Cossu, Michal Wozniak, and Hassan Baroudi all winning in straight sets. Baroudi brought his career record back to 1-1 and picked up the Boilers first win at No. 6, while Wozniak’s victory pushed Purdue over the hump and locked in his third win at No. 2.

The Boilers will be back in Schwartz Tennis Center for another two-match weekend next Friday, February 3rd, and 4th against DePaul and Dartmouth.
