Jackson Wins Qualifying Opener In Tulsa



TULSA, Okla. – Cal men’s tennis junior Ryder Jackson won his qualifying singles opener on Monday at the ITA All-American Championships to move into Tuesday’s round of 64. Jackson, who has now won five matches in three days at the All-American, defeated Illinois-Chicago’s 69th-ranked Aleksa Bucan to advance.
 
Jackson led Bucan 3-0 when the latter retired with an injury. Jackson next faces Texas Longhorn Cleeve Harper at 10 a.m. CT on Tuesday in the second round.
 
The qualifying draw ends Tuesday, with the main draw starting on Wednesday and ending Sunday.
