Champaign, IL – Steven Forman advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament on Monday, defeating Tyler Stice of Auburn 7-6, 7-5 in a first-round singles match.
The Troy, Michigan native was part of a Northwestern men’s squad that advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament earlier this month, as Forman captured 1st Team All-Big Ten honors during his senior season in Evanston.

He bounced back from an early break against Stice to win a 10-8 tiebreaker in the first set, before putting away an opponent who is a two-time first team all-SEC player for the Tigers.
Forman is back in action tomorrow at 10am, when we will take on the tournament’s No. 3 seed, Adam Walton of Tennessee.
