#4 Wolfpack Prepped for First Round of NCAA Championships


RALEIGH – Fourth-ranked NC State women’s tennis (23-4) welcomes South Carolina St. (12-7) among Charlotte and Kansas for the first round of NCAA Championships. The first serve is set for 5 p.m. on Friday, May 5 at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center in Raleigh, N.C.

Match Info:

All matches for the weekend are free and provide free nearby parking. The first-round match will be streamed live on TrackTennis here, and live scores will be available on StatBroadcast here.

This will be the first-ever meeting between the NC State Wolfpack and South Carolina State Bulldogs.

Event Parking:

Due to graduation events on campus, no parking permits are needed for this weekend’s matches. Nearby parking is available in the West parking deck and Sullivan Lot. 

Rankings Update: 

Coming off of a 4-1 win over No. 1 UNC over a week ago at the ACC Championships, the Wolfpack bumped up one spot to fourth in the nation.

The ITA released updated doubles and singles rankings on May 4th which featured four Wolfpack members in singles and two pairs in doubles. Diana Shnaider leads her team as the seventh-ranked player in the country. Alana Smith tallied at No. 13 in singles, where she has remained for the past two weeks. She is followed by Amelia Rajecki at No. 26 and Abigail Rencheli at No. 86. In doubles, both pairs earned a top-10 spot with Shnaider and Smith at fourth and Miller and Rajecki at ninth in the nation. 

Coming Up Next:

A win in the first round would place the Pack to continue on to the second round on Saturday, May 6 at 4 p.m. The match would take place at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center in Raleigh, N.C. versus the winner of the Charlotte, Kansas matchup.
